M-DHCP

Baiju Patel presented M-DHCP, which extends DHCP to provide a mechanism for allocating addresses to clients within a domain. This is the lowest layer of the multicast address allocation architecture described previously by Mark Handley.

This protocol cannot guarantee the absence of address conflicts. There will be some small probability that two applications are assigned the same address, and hence applications must be written to cope with this.
