Previous: Uni-directional Link Routing
A discussion of the terminology to be used occured. This hilighted a number
of issues:
- Some links are uni-directional from one end, but bi-directional from the
other end. Hence the term `non-symmetric' may be appropriate, since
it captures this case in addition to just the uni-directional case.
- Or instead of focussing on the link, it is possible to focus on the
end-systems. We then have send-only and receive-only systems.
- Or maybe `uni-directional interfaces'?
- Or maybe `non-commutative links'?
The opinion of the working group seemed to be leaning towards the
'uni-directional interface' terminology, as least confusing.
The end-systems shall be called 'send-only' and 'receive-only' nodes.
