A presentation by J. Lawrence from CISCO. The aim is to limit the effect of looping traffic over non looping traffic. Signalling traffic must be protected from loops. Loop mitigation is broader concept and incorporates loop prevention or methods that use TTL to reduce the effects of loops.
MPLS loop prevention is not a sufficient loop mitigation scheme because it cannot mitigate loops which transit the MPLS network.
