Jonathan Rosenberg (Bell Labs) presented an RTP payload format for generic FEC (draft-ietf-avt-fec-00.txt). This allows for the use of parity packets, using exclusive-or of a set of data packets. This is a media independent error correction scheme, as an alternative to redundancy.
Colin Perkins (UCL) presented a new draft on options for repair of streaming media (draft-ietf-avt-info-repair-00.txt). This draft compares and contrasts a range of solutions for repairing media streams subject to packet loss, and provides a suggested domain of applicability for each.
