- Edge initiated operation (ARIS, TDP conservative approach over ATM)
It is initiated by the edge node (ingress or egress) and the setup request propagates hop
by hop. it requires a description of "a stream" and provides several levels of aggregation.
It is desirable for controlling aggregated LSPs with arbitrary granularity levels.
- Distributed operation (FANP, IFMP, TDP)
Link by Link interaction no edge to edge influence. It can be traffic driven or topology
driven (for RSVP, PIM). it is desirable for controlling Multicast (DM or SM) LSPs or
RSVP driven LSPs.
